FAQ

How are eyelash extensions applied?
Our eyelash extensions are applied individually, one by one, 1mm away from the eyelid, never directly on the skin, to your natural eyelashes using a medical-grade adhesive solely made for professional eyelash extensions. Lash extensions come in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls, results can vary from very subtle and natural to very noticeable and dramatic.

What are Volume lashes?
This method is also known as Russian volume. The lash extensions used in this method are significantly thinner; a 0.07 diameter lash extension is used. With the classic lash method, 0.18, 0.15 or a 0.12 diameter is used.

Volume lashes are extremely lightweight, allowing the application of 2-6 extensions per natural lash, or 200-750 extensions per eye! If two eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash it’s described as 2D, if three eyelash extensions are applied to one natural eyelash then it’s described as 3D etc. This can not be done with classic lashes, as they are too heavy to apply more then one extension per lash. Volume is NOT cluster lashes! The fans are not pre made, rather fanned and created as the artist works on your set, thus the longer appointment length.

What products do you use?
High quality is of upmost importance at Lash and Sass. Only premium PBT lashes are used with Canadian made medical grade adhesive. Lash and Sass supports other Canadian businesses, a vary of brands are used to achieve every gorgeous lash set, including Lethbridge’s Lash Empire lashes and Edmonton’s SugarLash adhesive.

How long do eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions last 2-5 weeks on average depending on a number of factors such as aftercare, hair quality, weather, lifestyle. I  recommend clients come in for touch ups every 2-3 weeks. Clients who prefer to maintain a very full look come in on a bi weekly basis.

Will I lose my own lashes?
No, as long as you refrain from rubbing your eyes or tugging at the extensions you will not lose your own lashes. A common question is “when should I take a break from my lashes?” Breaks are not needed as long as the lashes are properly applied, extensions grow out and shed with your natural lashes, so as long as they lashes are not of extra weight and applied 1:1 (or 3:1 for volume clients) there will be no need to take a break, or require a removal and new set. Your lashes can last longer with proper aftercare, as always explained at the end of your initial appointment.
